Day 1 – Saturday – Bangkok to Amphawa

Distance: 30 km – Meals: Lunch and Dinner

We will pick up riders in Bangkok at 8:00am and transport them to the very famous “Damnoen Saduak” (Floating Market) where you will see the hustle and bustle of people shopping for food and souvenirs while the shop owners in the market call out to them. Small teak wood canoes try to squeeze by one another to do business as it was done many years ago.  We will then head to the hotel, get bikes fitted, and head out for a short ride around town and stop for lunch on the banks of the Mae Klong River (not to be confused with the Mekong River). After returning to the hotel we will visit the evening market in Amphawa that is much more local Thai style and less touristy (Thai tourists, but not many foreigners). Grab some drinks and snacks at the many food stalls in town and along the canal, and then take a boat down the canals after the sun sets to see the nests of fire-flies flickering in the trees above. After the boat ride we’ll enjoy dinner and then some live music.

Day 2 – Sunday – Amphawa to Petchaburi

Distance: 75 km – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast we’ll get started on our ride south. We will visit an amazing cave/temple inside a mountain called “Khao Yoi”and then cycle some more to Khao Luang Cave just before lunch and getting to the hotel. After we reach the hotel and get situated we will take the cable car up to Phra Nakhorn Khiri and tour through the royal palace built by Rama IV and the scenic temple overlooking Petchaburi.

Day 3 – Monday – Petchaburi to Cha Am

Distance: 60 km – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We will ride down small country roads through salt farms along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand and hit the beach for the first time on this day where we will celebrate with ice cream at one of our many beachside water stops. Lunch will be in the quaint beach resort town of Cha Am at a popular guest house and restaurant along the beach road. After lunch we will check into the hotel and relax before taking the support vehicle to witness an awesome display of bats flying out of a cave for their evening feast on insects.  Dinner will be back in town along the beach road.

Day 4 – Tuesday – Cha Am to Hua Hin

Distance: 50 km Meals: Breakfast and  Lunch

After continuing down the beach road we will head inland and cross the main road to find a small country dirt road to take us into Hua Hin and then give you a familiarity tour around downtown Hua Hin.  For lunch we will get in the van and head to Hua Hin Hills Vineyard for some incredible scenery as we enjoy a nice lunch overlooking the vineyards.

Day 5 – Wednesday – Day Off in Hua Hin

Meals: Breakfast

Head to the beach, chill in the pool, go shopping, or join a tasty Thai Cooking Class. All the bikes will be washed and serviced on this day.  Lunch and dinner will be on your own but there are so many places to choose from in town you may want to try something other than Thai food for a change.

Day 6 – Thursday – Hua Hin to Khao Sam Roi Yod

Distance: 50 km – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

A beautiful ride through Pranburi Forest Park along beachfront roads with a river crossing (by boat) thrown in. Upon arrival at our destination we will take another boat around to a private beach where we will climb up (on foot) and then down into Tham Phraya Nakhon Cave. The climb is a bit of a workout itself but well worth the visit to this spectacular cavern that has been visited by at least three of Thailand’s Kings in the last 100 years.

Day 7 – Friday – Khao Sam Roi Yod to Prachuap Khiri Khan

Distance: 65 km – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

About 20kms into our ride through Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park we will stop and visit Wat Khao Daeng (Red Mountain Temple) that sparkles and glitters with picturesque limestone mountains all around it. Riders will then dismount and climb Khao Daeng to its viewpoint for spectacular views of the park and it’s relatively untouched mountains and coastline. Lunch will be at a nice new resort on a quiet beach that tourists still don’t know about. Finally, we will arrive in Prachuap Khiri Khan for another climb to a hilltop temple with many steps to negotiate in order to take in more breathtaking coastal views.

Day 8 – Saturday – Prachuap Khiri Khan to Ban Krut

Distance: 77 km – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today is one of the most beautiful day rides on the Tour de Thailand that will take us along more sunny beaches, through a really cool Thai Air Force Base, to the Waghor Aquarium, through coconut plantations, fishing villages, and back to the beach in the unspoiled beach resort town of Ban Krut where we will once again head up to one of the most beautiful hilltop temples in Thailand that overlooks the deep green of the coconut plantations along the coast and the empty white sand beaches below. Lunch will be at Kasama’s Café, a lovely little café in Ban Krut that serves great Italian food and other western dishes from the recipe’s of the private detective book writer Byron Bailes. For dinner we will eat more delicious Thai seafood dishes and then party with Byron and friends.

Day 9 – Sunday – Ban Krut to Bang Saphan to Ban Krut

Distance: 48 km – Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

We will lead a nice leisurely ride down the beach road to Bang Saphan and back just to take in more beautiful beach riding before coming back to our favorite resort in Thailand for another afternoon in paradise. The ride will get us back in time to take a swim in one of the soothing pools the resort has to offer or simply head to the beach for a swim in the Gulf of Thailand.  After lunch we will start to head back to Bangkok or help riders who wish to go elsewhere get the transfers they need.  For those that wish to stay in Ban Krut (our personal favorite) for a few more days of beach paradise we will be happy to help make hotel and transportation arrangements.
